I'm a game designer with three years of experience making games. I'm good with both C# and Unity 3D and am learning Unreal 4 and C++/Blueprint. I find myself doing a little bit of everything on a project, though my strengths revolve around Programming, Mechanical Design, Level Design, QA, Leadership, and ProductionOutside of design I'm an avid learned, a talented writer, and have a good head for data, I also have strong conflict resolution skills that often come in handy. In my free time I enjoy writing poetry, reading, and cooking.

I am agreeable, dedicated, and easy to work with as well as being highly adaptable. Having worked in many different positions on different projects during school and while on contract, I am looking for work as a Game Designer with a focus on anything involving Programming, QA, Puzzle Design, or Level Design. I'm also open to work as either a gaming journalist or in creative writing.

Programming:

I have a strong understanding of C# and a growing knowledge of C++ and Blueprint. Code I write is clean easy to understand as I stick to easy to read architecture with frequent and relevant comments. I'm always happy to learn  a new way of accomplishing a programming task as my effective learning skills and adaptability allow me to stay on schedule.

Level Design:

When creating a level I work so that the level's main mechanics to shine through more than anything else. I focus on functionality before anything else, and the resulting dynamics will often present the theme itself rather than the other way around.

Puzzle Design:

When designing puzzles I do my best to encourage critical thinking by asking the player to think outside the box. I enjoy presenting concepts that require the player to re-interpret what they are looking at, how those elements work, and how they fit together. That being said, I do my best to make puzzles that are enjoyable and accessible to as many people as possible.

Mechanical Design:

I enjoy the process of coming up with mechanics and then figuring out how best to implement them in a game. I like to focus on fun first and then build from there. I'm also not shy about abandoning things that don't work so that the overall experience stays cohesive and players have a good time. Watching then learn and master the tools given to them is by and large the best part of the process.

Writing:

I have been writing creatively for over a decade and have a strong grasp of grammar and syntax. I'm also very good at breaking down and analyzing game's and putting those thoughts into clear and easy to understand language. I'd be just as happy working as an editor as I would an article writer.
